Description
This is a "hands on" class that will teach a variety of ways to repair nicks, dents and scratches. Techniques for repairing ranging from "burn ins" to polyester repair, padding, graining, glazing and toning will be taught. Color matching will be emphasized.
Training Includes
- Damage evaluation and assessment
- Repairing shallow and deep scratches, dents and gouges
- Introduction to color matching
- Selection and application of dyes and pigments
- Soft wax application techniques
- Burn ins
- Brushing techniques for color enhancement
- Using pearlescent powders
- Faux Graining on your repair
- Proper use of all the touch up tools
- Removal of white water rings
- Removal of packing and press marks
- Polyester fills for broken corners
- White wood repair
- Sheen adjustment

Participants are encouraged to bring their pieces to work on. Furniture and panels will be provided for the students to work on.
